4.1 Cargo Box

4.1.1 Location & Components

4.1.2 Required Tools

Warning

Seruious injury could occur if cargo box is removed without following the correct procedure.


4.1.3 Replacement Instructions

Ensure vehicle brakes are applied

Locate and remove hoop mounting bolts

  • Using a T40 Torx socket, remove the 4 M8x20 flanged bolts securing the cargo box to the cabin hoops.
  • Ensure you have someone to support with holding the washers on the outside of the hoops while removing bolts.
  • Remove the bolts and the interior washers.

Locate and remove frame mounting bolts

  • Using a T40 Torx socket, remove the 4 M8x20 flanged bolts securing the cargo box to the chassis on the floor of the cargo box.

Disconnect the cargo box electrical harness

  • Locate the deutsch connector under the front of the cargo box behind the seat.
  • Press the two side clips and pull apart to disconnect the harness.

Remove the cargo box

  • Using two or more people, carefully lift the cargo box off the vehicle frame and place on the ground.
  • Lifting points for two people should be at each wheel arch, or four people at each corner of the box.

Warning

The cargo box is heavy and awkward to lift. Ensure adequate personnel are available to lift and support the box during removal to prevent injury or damage.

Reinstall cargo box

  • Using the correct lifting technique, lift the cargo box and place it back onto the chassic rails.
  • Align the hoop and frame mounting points with the cargo box mounting holes.

Install mounting bolts

  • With the hoop and frame mounting points aligned, insert the M8x20 flanged bolts and their washers.
  • Ensure you have someone to support with holding the washers on the outside of the hoops while inserting bolts.
  • Torque all frame mounting points to 25Nm, and torque all hoop mounting points to 20Nm.

Reconnect cargo box electrical connector

  • Reconnect the deutsch connector under the front of the cargo box behind the seat.
  • Ensure the connector is in the correct orientation and clicks into place securely.

Final checks and reference

  • Confirm cargo box is flush with mounting points and bolts are torqued.
  • Verify electrical connections and inspect for any loose components.
