4.3 Windscreen

4.3.1 Location & Components

4.3.4 Replacement Instructions

  1. M5 Hex Screws

  3. Cabin Hoops

Remove the wiper arm

  • Locate the securing nut at the base of the wiper arm.
  • Use a 13mm Hexalobular socket to loosen and remove the nut.
  • Carefully remove the wiper arm from the motor spindle.

Unscrew the windscreen

  • Using a 4mm allen key, unscrew the 16 M5 hex socket cap screws securing the windscreen to the cabin hoops.

Removing the windscreen

  • Using a suitable cutting tool, carefully cut through the sealant bonding the windscreen to the cabin hoops.
  • Remove the windscreen from the front cabin hoops and dashboard.

Clean the cabin hoops

  • Using a suitable cleaning agent, clean the cabin hoops where the windscreen was removed.
  • Ensure all sealant residue is removed to provide a clean surface for reinstallation.

Preparing the new windscreen

  • Use IPA cleaner to clean the bonding surface of the new windscreen.
  • Fit new grommets to the windscreen holes.
  • Apply SABA Sabatack 750 sealant evenly around the bonding surface of the windscreen.

Re-secure the windscreen

  • Carefully position the new windscreen onto the cabin hoops and dashboard, making sure to align with the wiper spindle.
  • Insert the M5 bolts including washers and tighten by hand until seated firmly into the rubber well nuts.

Reinstall the wiper arm

  • Position the wiper arm back onto the motor spindle, ensuring the correct orientation parallel to the edge of the roof.
  • Apply loctite 243 to the nut and torque to 29Nm using a 13mm Hexalobular socket.

Attention

It is advised to wear adequate PPE such as gloves and eye protection when working with chemical cleaners and sealant.
